Concertagenda Jonas Meersmans Trio

About Jonas Meersmans Trio
Over the years, self-taught guitarist Jonas Meersmans has developed his own personal language on his instrument. His latest album 'Glassman’, produced by Tim Vanhamel, was released in November 2024 on the Belgian jazz label WERF Records. This record wove acoustic finger-picking landscapes with strings, double-bass and psychedelic sounds. The music was acclaimed by the national press and played on both Radio Klara and Radio 1. His previous releases include a diptych of instrumental music for guitar, violin and brass. He has also composed soundtracks for various theatres and short films, including the much-lauded film début 'Broeders’ from Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. In 2020, he wrote the opening track for a compilation album on the American Tompkins Square label. Jonas is also the guitarist for Stef Kamil Carlens & The Swoon, the Nicolas Mortelmans Quartet and the Ellen Schoenaerts Quintet. Live, he is supported in the trio by Michaël Lamiroy on violin and Gerben Brys on double bass.
