Concertagenda Julien Tassin

Julien Tassin is a Belgian guitarist who pushes the acoustic guitar far beyond its conventional boundaries. Through alternative tunings and unconventional playing techniques, he crafts layered, raw, and emotional compositions shaped by influences from blues, jazz, classical, Eastern, and African music. Repetition lies at the heart of his musical language: Motifs gradually unfold and return in hypnotic cycles, building a tension that can become almost overwhelming. At other times, Tassin is equally attentive to silence, using pauses and the space between notes to create a different, more subtle kind of tension.

In his music, Tassin is uncompromisingly pure: Little to no effects, simply a musician and his instrument. Vulnerable, intense and direct.
