About Lambert
Who exactly is concealing themselves behind Lambert's signature Sardinian mask remains a mystery. What is certain, however, is that his cinematic neoclassical sound has endured effortlessly for more than a decade. Since his debut in 2014, the German pianist and composer has been steadily creating his own distinct musical universe—one shaped by sparse piano compositions, infused with minimalist music, jazz, and subtle pop textures. It is a world in which artists such as Nils Frahm—who recorded Lambert’s first album—and Ólafur Arnalds, are kindred spirits.
With his new album I AM NOT LAMBERT (2026), Lambert fractures his own mythology and poses the question more explicitly than ever: who, exactly, is the real Lambert? For the first time, vocals come to the fore, and his music becomes overtly song-oriented, while retaining the minimalist precision and hypnotic tension arcs that define his work. These compositions hover between intimacy and expansiveness, never slipping into mere ornamentation. A subtle rhythmic pulse binds his music together. On stage, this translates into concentrated sets —in which mask or no mask fades into irrelevance: silence, dynamics, and nuance carry as much weight as virtuosity. There is no spectacle—only heightened intensity.
