Concertagenda MOTMOT

MOTMOT is a Brussels-based quartet featuring Chiara Bacci (voice, effects, composition), Adia Vanheerentals (soprano and tenor saxophones), Simon Groppe (piano and synth bass) and Gaspard Sicx (drums). Their sound moves through calm, ethereal atmospheres, punctuated at times by abrupt and unexpected shifts, while the lyrics speak through images and fragments. The music blends composition, improvisation and sonic exploration: it opens structures, floats, loses and regains its pulse, always rooted in the present moment through the constant dialogue between the four musicians. The band’s name refers to a species of colorful birds found in Central and South America, an image that mirrors their sound world: playful yet intimate, delicate with a touch of boldness.
