Sparklmami’s debut record In This Body invites listeners into a lush world of reverie, nostalgia, and possibility. Across nine songs, she blends cascading vocal runs, golden saxophone improvisations, and delicate rhythms, drawing inspiration from 1970s Brazilian jazz, Mexican boleros, and the improvisations of her bandmates.
Sparklmami’s imagination drives the record. Singing in both Spanish and English, she revisits her childhood memories while exploring themes of love, loss, and connection to her community, her musical collaborators, and herself.
