Concertagenda Suzanne Vega

Suzanne Vega is widely acclaimed as one of the best songwriters of her generation. She is a figurehead of the folk revival of the early 1980s. The songs sound like stories masterfully told by Vega. Her poetic view of the world repeatedly focuses on city life, ordinary people and subjects taken from real life. Vega's witty and pure songs are still as recognisable, unique and profound as they were when she first appeared on the radio 40 years ago. 

Her recent sold-out concerts at Bozar and the Queen Elisabeth Hall were unanimously praised by the press. De Standaard (★★★★) wrote that 'Suzanne Vega takes up the fight against lies and disinformation to loud cheers’, while Focus Knack (★★★★) described her performance as 'introspective, reflective, vital and above all timeless’, noting that her voice is still as clear as ever.'

On 4 July, she will be performing at the Bijloke site with her full band, playing timeless classics such as Tom's Diner and Luka, supplemented with new work from the highly acclaimed Flying with Angels.
