Concertagenda Thenightclub

The Night Club is a five-piece band with ex-members of Falling Man and Captain Moon. Bass and drum lead the way, with a maximum of two chords per track and one groove. Body music. Everything comes from improvisation, resulting nevertheless in genuine songs. Dark and contradictory, absurd and dance-worthy. A self-built analogue synth, Marc Ribot’s unreal grandson on guitar and a crooner of sorts behind the mic. It’s not retro but channels the spirit of bands from the late 1970s and early 80s, which injected funk, disco, afro, reggae, krautrock, minimal and so on, into the energy of punk. Stijn Meuris saw his first performance and decreed on Facebook: 'Really impressed. I like a lot. I think: go Willy go.'
