Joe Webb is a pianist who effortlessly combines the swing of the 40s and 50s with a rebellious, virtuoso flair. Rooted in the tradition of Fats Waller and Art Tatum but with influences from Britpop and even hip-hop, he and his trio offer a refreshing and adventurous sound which may subtly incorporate bebop and blues at any moment. On the most recent 'Hamstrings & Hurricanes’ (2024), he works with a rhythm section made up of Will Sach (bass) and Sam Jesson (drums) to explore the intersection between classic and modern jazz piano in their own, contemporary style.
