The Kurdish/Dutch Naaz is a multi-talented artist who takes on every stage, as singer, producer, writer and director. Raised in a family of refugees, she found freedom in music from a young age. Her first tracks were created in her childhood room, alone, self-written and self-produced. This DIY energy is still evident, but her unique blend of English and Kurdish music has now found a global audience and picked up praise from stars such as Elton John and Lana Del Rey along the way. Naaz does not shy away from big themes such as autism, being a woman in the music industry, growing up in a diaspora, and so on. But it is never gratuitous; her work is always formed on a basis of power and individuality.
