About Omasta
Omasta is a five-piece band from Kraków, forging a raw and multi-layered sound at the crossroads of jazz, hip-hop, and street culture. Driven by heavy drums, deep bass, and a richly textured instrumental palette, they have quickly built a reputation on the European jazz scene through their high-energy live performances. Their debut album, Jazz Report from the Hood (2025), stands as a collectively crafted ode to urban life—a sonic portrait of daily hustle, resilience, and the pulse of the streets. Drawing inspiration from artists such as J Dilla and Madlib, as well as 1970s jazz-funk pioneers, Omasta channels these influences into a distinctive and instantly recognisable sound, firmly grounded in their Polish roots.
