Concertagenda Soetkin Baptist & Det Vilde Kor

Soetkin Baptist is a Belgian singer-songwriter known for her authentic, deeply moving voice. With her unique sound, she challenges her audience, peeling them back layer by layer, like an onion: layer after layer, right down to the heart. 

After immersing herself deeply in the Belgian folk scene with projects such as Ishtar and Olla Vogala, she caused a sensation in the world of early music. And since moving to Norway in 2015, she has become an integral part of the Norwegian music scene, where, alongside her solo work, she is pushing boundaries through her coaching of various choirs, particularly 'her’ Det Vilde Kor. With whom she is now coming to Belgium.

Soetkin’s work spans various genres, from classical to pop to jazz to choral and world music, reflecting her versatility as an artist. A fertile ground for her own innovative vocal arrangements. She has collaborated on projects with Rosas and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and is a member of the Ratas Del Viejo Mundo ensemble. 

Soetkin has extensive experience as a performing artist and vocal coach and is renowned for her in-depth knowledge of vocal techniques. She has contributed to countless artistic projects and collaborated with international artists. Following her debut EP, Steigen Songs (2024), she will release a new EP in March 2026: Both Sides Live, featuring - as the title suggests - exclusively live recordings. It features four tracks from the Heartbreak Songs programme she performed with pianist Yegor Shevtsov, live from Svalbard (Spitsbergen), and one track she recorded live with Det Vilde Kor: But I Loved, a reworking of the Norwegian hit by Highasakite.
